Outlook Newsreader not in Go menu

S

Steve Gr

Hi,

I'm using Outlook 2003. I want to add "News" to the Go menu. I've followed
the instructions in Help, but I can't see it in the list of Commands, so I
can't add it to the menu!

I had a look in Internet Explorer 7 properties on the Programs tab, but
Outlook isn't an option for Newsgroups, only Outlook Express, and this box
currently has nothing selected.

Can anyone help?

Regards,
Steve

That's a useful link, thanks. But I would like to use the solutions listed
there as a last resort, if you see what I mean?!
What I want to do is exactly what's listed in the help file (below), but i
can't because News isn't listed in Commands list.

Extract from help file:

The first time you use the newsreader, you must add the News command to the
Go menu.

Add the News command to the Go menu.
How?

On the Standard toolbar (toolbar: A bar with buttons and options that you
use to carry out commands. To display a toolbar, press ALT and then
SHIFT+F10.), click the Toolbar Options arrow .
Point to Add or Remove Buttons, and then click Customize.
Click the Commands tab.
In the Categories list, click Go.
In the Commands list, click News, and drag it, without releasing the mouse,
until it rests over the Go menu. When the menu displays a list of commands,
point to where you want the command to appear, and then release the mouse.
Click the Go menu, and then click News.

Thanks,
Steve

Yes, and if you want to use those instructions you must first set Outlook
Express as your default newsreader. If you still can't choose News as a
command to add to your toolbar after a restart of Outlook, reset your
toolbar as instructed in the article.
