Outlook missing messages when using Roaming Profile

I recently set up a new Windows 2003 Server and at the same time
configured roaming profiles for several users on my network. 2 of my
users are having problems where occasionally they will log on from a
random computer on the network, download and send emails from Outlook,
log off, and then log back on later only to find that the work the did
in their previous session wasn't saved. This only happens with
messages sent or received in Outlook, changes in Word and Excel are
properly saved.

All users with Roaming Profiles have their .pst file saved in their My
Documents folder, and they swear up and down that they're logging off
any other active sessions as soon as they're done, making it unlikely
that they're overwriting the changes made with another session. As a
temporary fix I set Outlook to leave a copy of messages on the server,
but I'd love to be able to determine what is causing this problem and
what can be done about it.

To give you some background info, the computers in the office are a
mix of Windows 2000 Professional and Windows XP SP2, and we're using
Office 2002 and 2003. Most of the users having this problem use PCs
with Windows XP SP2 and Office 2002, but this has happened to people
on Office 2003 and Windows 2000. It doesn't happen all the time,
maybe 1-2 times a week for both users. Help!
