Outlook Message and Item Previewer

I cannot open an attached Outlook message. The following error message is
shown:

"This message cannot be previewed because of an error in the following
message previewer - Microsoft Outlook Message and Item Previewer - To open
this file in its own program double click the message"

When I double click the message NOTHING happens. Help would be appreciated
from anyone who has seen this problem and fixed it.
 
If you have Google Desktop Search installed, either disable its indexing in Outlook or uninstall (I prefer the latter - I use Copernic).
