Outlook looking for logon credentials

Hi,
I have a problem with Outlook on a couple of machines.When
I try to add a new profile within Outlook, it throws up a
logon box looking for user name password and domain name.I
have uninstalled and re-installed Outlook with all service
packs, turned off the logon security authentication
option, re-created the user account in Active Directory
but im still having the problem. The problem is occurring
on Windows 2000 and XP machines.
 
are these machines using microsoft networking ? are they logged on locally
or to the domain controller?
