Outlook live import

I have Outlook live, (Outlook 2003 Sp2). I archived my e-mails to a CD-RW.

Now to get them I have to import the floder but I get the message: Import
and Export are not available. Run Set up again.

I do not have a CD for this, I downloaded it. How to I run set up again ?

For whatever reason, import and export are not available with Outlook live.
Did you archive them in a pst? If so, copy it to the drive and connect it to
Outlook using File, open, outlook data file.

Thank you. Yes I did something like that. But first I chatted and called MS
support. I was told the only solution was to get a copy of Office 2003 where
Outlook has Import & Export (Office 2000, which I have, would not work
because of the change in file format). Now why is Outlook Live a crippled
version? In the promo this is not stated!

Anyway I figured in what directory a normal archive would go (not easy,
because I guess that any prior pst files are erased) and copied the pst file
from the CD to the hard drive. This resulted in the archive folders showing
up in "All Mail Folders". But what surprised me was that it was reading from
the CD and not from the hard drive.

I moved the e-mails that I needed. Now my CD drive was "locked". While I
could see what was there with Win Explorer I could not open it or eject it. I
had to reboot to get it open. I wonder what will happen at the next automatic
archive. I guess I should do a manual one, to reset the directory.

How do I communicate to MS my displeasure, in finding that Outlook Live is
crippled and it should be fixed? I was also under the misconception that it
would help me synchronize Outlook between my desktop and laptop. While in a
certain way this works for Hotmail e-mails. Calendar and Contacts by
synchronizing both computers with Hotmail, it does not do anything with
e-mails in POP accounts. (I work around by forwarding important e-mails to
my Hotmail)
But I could do this with a regular version of Outlook, a premium Hotmail
account and Intellisync. What does Outlook Live at $50 per year give me?

Outlook live is intended for people who don't own a copy of outlook 2003 or
a paid msn/hotmail account and need remote access or sharing of the calendar
and contacts. Intellisync is not quite as good as MOOL, but it's less
expensive than the MOOL account. MSN premium subscribers get the connector
needed to use Outlook 2002/2003 with their msn account. Outlook live
displays data stored online in the hotmail /msn account and import /export
is not a good way to backup data, so most people can get along without
import/export.

If you want to access pop3 mail on multiple computers using outlook live,
you need to set outlook live as the default message store. Then the pop3
mail is synced with the server, so you data is available online.
