Outlook is trying to send an email that isn't there

Recently Outlook has been perpetually attempting to send a message that is
not there (or if there is a message there it is not visible in the outbox).
An error
message appears about the connection being interupted and then as soon as I
click "Cancel All" Outlook begins trying to send again. Everything about the
way the account is set up appears correct, it used to work and no changes
were made to it when the problem began. Any ideas?
This question has been posted before but I am unable to read any of teh
responses! Gah!
