Outlook is set as default mail, but IE6 starts OE to mail file.

Help files and instructions say use tools, options, programs to set a mail
program as the default program to start when using the file, send a page
function. I have changed, set, and reset from OE to Outlook; and despite my
settings it always selects OE. I want Outlook to use the enhanced
functionality. Can someone help please? This is my first question here so
be nice to me please. Other information on the system:
Dell Lattitude 9100 w/ 1 gig memory and Win XP SP2, IE 6.0 SP2, Office 2003
(includes Outlook). Thanks in advance very much.

Hi Xenotar :)

Try the following and see if it helps:

To set Outlook as the default mail client,- Go to Start, Run - Type in the
following with quotation marks and press OK
"C:\program files\microsoft office\office\outlook.exe" /checkclient
For more information on Outlook see:

Hope this helps :)

Jan,
The command line you gave didn't execute, so I looked up the path to
outlook.exe and changed "office" to "office11" and it did run.
Unfortunately, I did a quick try and it still brings up OE. I will try by
restarting the IE application and play a little. Thanks for such a speedy
response.
