outlook is not sending

Suddenly, I can receive messages but can't send any. There are no error
messages. Pressing the send/receive button acts like it is working by
displaying the icon i nthe tray but the message remains in the oubox
 
What version of Outlook do you have? What sort of mail account(s)?
