Outlook in Office '02 XP - Use with Hotmail?

Hi-
I am running Microsoft XP Pro on my PC. I have Microsoft Office '02 XP
installed on this same PC.
I currently use Outlook Express to manage my Hotmail and other accounts. Is
this version of Outlook able to manage Hotmail etc? The problem I'm
encountering is this- When I open Outlook to prepare for setting everything
up I get the following message "Unable to open your default e-mail folders.
Could not open item. Try again.
I'm a little bit familiar with Outlook Connector, but it appears that is
only for 2003 and 2007 versions. Is this correct?
Any advice?

Thanks,

Dennis

Based on everything I'm reading the connector is only for OL2003 & OL2007 as
you've mentioned. So, either upgrade or deal with using the website

By "dealing with web site" I assume you mean the MSN (Hotmail) web site?
What I'm wanting to do is this: I use Office 2007 at work and I'd like to
sync my new windows live capable cell phone with my contact and calendar
information. Then, I'd like to sync that with my home PC and laptop. Any
other option that you may know of?
Thanks!

Is this a Windows Mobile phone? I would think ActiveSync at home wpould
allow this, provided the data in the phone are in the phone's default
locations.

Thanks Brian-
Yes it's a Windows Mobile Phone. The problem is that I can't get Outlook
(Office '02 XP version) to function properly.
Please see my first post.
Thanks for your positive response!

Outlook 2002 won't be able to access Hotmail. I read the post to which I
responded and thought you were saying you were accessing Hotmail on the
Outlook 2007 system and then wished to sync the results there to the Outlook
2002 system at home via the PDA. My mistake.

You'll need to use Outlook 2007 at home if you want to sync with the home
computer.
