Outlook IMAP support should be revamped

Outlook's IMAP support is difficult to work with. For instance, deleting a
message requires the use of that awkward "Purge Deleted Messages" option.
Dragging a message from one folder to another simply copies it and waits for
you to purge from the old folder. Why not make it behave more like Outlook
does when using an Exchange server in cached mode? Obviously you wouldn't
get all the other groupware features like Calendars or Tasks, but the mail
component could be dramatically improved.

Here are some suggestions:
- Store local copies of the IMAP folders, and then when you go online simply
synchronize them every couple minutes.
- Give the user the ability to designate special folders -- for instance,
the "trash" folder, the "junk e-mail" folder, the "drafts" folder, the "sent
items" folder, etc. This way, if I pick one of my IMAP folders to be the
trash folder, we can do away with this "Purge Deleted Messages" option; when
a user deletes a message, simply copy the message to the designated trash
folder, automatically remove it from the old folder, and synchronize with the
server.
- Allow a user to drag & drop a message from one folder to another, without
needing to manually purge from the old one.
- Other suggestions?

I'm not sure how much is limited by the IMAP protocol instead of Outlook but
you can use the following methods to provide MS with feedback (this support
group is not one of them)
