Outlook has started working slow, why?

My outlook was working fine. now everything is moving at an incredibly slow
pace.
how do i fix this?
 
How about giving us some information - Outlook version, account type,
size of PST file, patch level, etc.?
 
Outlook 2003
pop
pst file - any size

opens slow, i'd say there is about a 5 second delay between anything i do
it is sytem wide, outlook only, i tried the detect and repair from the disc
to no avail.
just moving the mouse inside the outlook window/s is slow.
 
Sometimes a corrupt profile can do all kinds of things to Outlook. Try
deleting the profile and create a new one.
 
Txs Pat. it didn't work. i removed it, and re-installed it.
there were two back up files created that apperantly were causing the problem.
i deleted one of them and again re-installed the program, and presto, it
works!
