Outlook keep coming up with this error. I have done a detect and repair. I
have all the latest office updates. Can someone give me some idea what else
to try without removing and reinstalling outlook. Running XP pro and office
2003 pro

Can you post any more details about the error? It might help in diagnosing
the error.

I have the same problem to a tee. I have same system XP Pro and 2003 Pro and
have sent a hundred messages to microsoft. Help I also am getting
syncronizing folders all the time, how do I shut it off.

I just started to get this same popup window that says that Outlook has
encountered an error and needs to shut down and there is a check box that
says restart outlook and report to Microsoft. I have done detect and repair
and all the office updates the info sheet says to do but it keeps happening.
I don’t know what or how it started it just started. If you need more info
other than what I have said maybe I can past a screen shot of the error
message.

Just so you all know, I reformatted my hard drive, the problem went away, xp
pro and 2003 pro. I downloaded the office updates like sp2 etc and the
problem came back. It wasn't sp2 it was I believe a later one, maybe the
security fix. Let you know if any more info comes. A guy in my office also
had no problems, got xp pro and 2003 pro, got updates and same thing is
happening to him....can't answer why

I think the problem is with an update to windows that caused this and the
fact that I wasn't keeping office 2003 updated, in the message where it
expalines the error it tells you to update office but I think it is too late
for that after you have the problem and uninstalling office will not fix
either cause of the registery. I would like to see some one from MIcrosoft
Office group help with a fix, really don't want to format if there is really
no need to do so...

Were you able to get your problem resolved? Mine still is present, Microsoft
has not responded to any of my error messages.

Did you recently get a new computer or do a backup to load you data and pst
files on a new computer? I am trying to slim down the possibilities. We have
2 people on 2003 and both of us have the problem.....

No I have been using this computer for sometime now with out any problems, I
do have back ups of all my mail and the PST dat file so I'm not to worried
about that I just don't want to format if not needed.

It would be nice to just know what caused the problem and how to fix it...
Simple...

Reformatting the computer didn't work. It came back again. We are now in the
process of establishing a new Outlook profile for me. There has been only one
person to respond to "fixing the problem". His profile got corrupted and by
getting a completely new one fixed the problem.....we are also going to run
scanpst which will fix or repair any faulty pst. files that could have caused
the problem in the beginning....I will let you know the results.

Did you ever get the problem" outlook has encountered a problem and needs to
close " corrected...?

Can anyone please inform me of how the issue was fixed. I feel like I'm in
the same boat with everyone reporting this issue.

One string said that by formatting the computer it fixed it as it removed
the Office Update. I'm just wondering is there a way to uninstall updates?

thanks

YOYO, haven't been able to fix my problem. I did deiete and reload 2003 to no
avail. Same stuff. I have 1. Updated Windows 2. Internet Explorer 3. Turnoff
out going Norton 4. disabled SpySweeper out going. 5. defragged, 6. disc
cleaned 7. ran scanpst on email accounts 8. Updated 2003 Office Pro created
folders to clean up my email active files. I send 30+ messages to Microsoft
each day. Everyone has expressed "some" items to do but as you can see no
one has been able to "fix" the problem. I started anew with 2003 from 2000
others have had 2003 from the start and have similar problems. Microsoft has
not responded to any of these error conditions. I am taking my computer to a
couple computer geeks who will analyze the problem.....that is how fed up I
am with the problem.
