Outlook hangs when opening Outlook Today

Jeroen Burgerhout

Hi all,

When I am trying to open Outlook Today in Outlook 2007, my Outlook stops
responding.

Another problem that I have is that when I making a Meeting Request and go
to the Scheduling Assistant view, that Outlook is using more then 1GB of mem
usage.
After a few seconds Outlook is not responding and has to be closed.

Anybody any ideas about the above problems?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I forgot to mention that this is an Exchange mailbox.
Outlook is starting normally direct in Inbox. When I try to swich to Outlook
Today, Outlook is hanging. Even in Safe Mode and on several pc's. So I think
this should be a server issue or something like that.

and on several pc's
If you have roaming profiles in your organization, testing it on several
machines doesn't make much of a difference as you also move around the
settings with you.

Do you have a virus scanner enabled that does script scanning in Internet
Explorer or on other HTML content? Disable this integration and try again.

In addition to Roady's advice, if you're not using roaming profiles try
opening Outlook on a different PC in the organisation. If your profile opens
fine there, you might want to delete the Outlook profile on your PC then
restart it, and recreate the profile.

Another option to condside is having a look in your Outlook Today folder
with the homepage turned off (right click on Outlook Today, scroll to
properties, middle tab is homepage, uncheck the box, click OK). It's possible
there is a bunch of mail that has been accidentally dragged there.

If no one else is having the same problem with Outlook today, it's unlikely
the problem is a server issue.
