Outlook hangs when opening a message

I have a user who when opening an email Outlook freezes. When replying to
an email, Outlook freezes. They can view the contents of emails thru the
preview pane. INterestingly, when I hit "ctl" + 'N', I can get a new email
to open up - the shortcut works, but not from the menu bar... I am able to
open their Mailbox from another computer and everything works fine. Any
clues??? Thanks
 
Check for filters, size of certain emails (some are very
large) and you may want to run the
outlook.exe /cleanviews. It cleans a lot up in outlook.
Are there 2 different versions of outlook as well at your
site? I use O97 and O03--we have multiple issues off the
exchange side due to conflicts.
