Outlook Hangs on Contact Phone Number and Customize

I just started using Outlook a few weeks ago (older 2003) and was having so
many problems with it hanging the second I tried to move the cursor out of
any phone number field when creating a new contact entry, I got ticked and
went to Best Buy and bought Office 2007, upgraded, using outlook 2007 now (as
of yesterday) - and exactly the same thing happens. Whats more, when I go to
customize to see if thats's where add-ins or anything weird is, it hangs
there too. Where do I start trying to fix this?

Ok - write after writing this, I found out Microsoft offers 90 day supporto
n the Office Small Business 2007 package. I called in, and over the next 24
hours I spent about 12-14 collective hours with MS on the phone (from my
office, from home, you don't care) anyway -

the Telephony service is at fault. this took foreever to isolate.
so - under windows vista 32 bit with outlook 2007, the telephony service
login needs to be set to local, not network. MS is still writing a final
draft of why-this-happened so I'll share then when I receive it.

Case closed.
