Outlook Hangs on close!

Jeremy

When one of our users closes Outlook 2k it hangs on
the "please wait while outlook closes" message. I can go
into the process and end it, but it does it everytime.

Some common reasons why Outlook does not close:

1. PDA in the cradle.
2. Fax software - especially WinFax Pro (if using 9.02, upgrade to 9.03)
3. Franklin-Covey Plan Plus!
4. COM add-ins.
5. Background mail checkers.

Try opening the mailbox in Outlook using
the ".../CleanFreeBusy" switch. The link below
will give you the instructions on how to use it.

OL2002: Additional Command-Line Switches
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;en-us;296192&

/CleanFreeBusy Cleans and regenerates free/busy information.

Then close outlook. (you'll have to kill it again in tasks)
But the next time you open it, it should close correctly.

Please write back to the group and let us know if this is effective.

This also worked for me- thanks.
