Outlook: give option to replace original msg with reply msg

In Outlook 2003, every reply to a message is saved as a new message. I would
like an option that allows any reply messages to save over (or delete) the
original messages. This would save me from having to delete old messages in
a separate step. Microsoft - please consider this for upcoming versions of
Outlook!
