Outlook Frozen because of 2 GB limitations I assume...HELP

I'm so frustrated, I've received an inordinate amount of mail..which has me
locked up with the "The messaging interface has returned an unknown
error"...blah blah...
I can't move, delete or take the mail that's in my send box spooling to
everyone....HELP our IT guy hasn't shown up "but it will take hours to fix"
when he does. Shouldn't this be an easy process? Outlook is so expensive, I
don't mind paying for it but dang...shouldn't it be easier to fix such a
simple problem?
What do I do?????? Thanks for any help you can offer. Robin
 
Please provide the following information:

1) Version of Outlook
2) Email environment (Exchange, POP3)
3) Are you using a PST? What size is it?
4) Are there any errors/error messages/numbers
5) Are there any Outlook or Office-related errors in you application event
viewer?
6) What troubleshooting steps have you taken?
