Outlook freezes when replying to a email

Iam using outlook 2003
Its freezes up when i click on new button or reply to a mail.
shows "starting MS Word as YOur E-mail Editor" and not able to do anything
after that...
When i unchecked the "use ms office word 2003 to edit e-mail messages" it
works fine...

Plz help

That would indicate an issue with Word.
Does Word still work correctly?
Try starting Word in Safe Mode once and then try again.
Start-> Run; winword.exe /safe
