Where does outlook 2000 store the files containing your email and
address book and/or what are the registry keys that point to these?

I have win2000 or XP, Office 2000 in a standard standalone
installation. I'd like to store the mail files on a file server rather
than on the individual PC. That way I can share them between systems
and make sure they are backed up.

I managed to hack Outlook Express to do this via direct maintenance od
the registry... is there a programmed based mechanism or a registry
entry I can hack for Outlook ?

Thanks,

The file has a *.pst extension and is kept within the user profile, you my
have to configure search to look into hidden files and folders. Note
Microsoft doesn't recommend placing this pst file on a network share because
of possible corruption to the database structure, personally you between the
devil and the deep blue sea and whatever you end up doing could end in tears
(feel in a metaphor mood at the moment :)).
