i cannot open any attachments on Outlook Express.
the message window contains the phrase "OE has removed
access to the following unsafe attachments in your
email.....
How can I correct this? It happened recently and I have
gone back to all my saved emails and get the same message
on all attachments which had previously opened without a
problem.
Under the email "create rule from message" there is a note
about "New Mail Rule # 1" Could this be the problem. I
cannot delete this "new Mail Rule #1"

The ability to get at attachments to email in OE6 SP1 is disabled for
security reasons... BUT you can enable it an get at all those attachments.
Here's what you need to do:
Open OE6 and select tools/options
Select the security tab
Make sure the check box beside "Do not allow attachments to be saved or
opened that could potentially be a virus" is unchecked and you should be
OK(as long as the attachment is not a virus).

Click tools, click security and if there is a check mark in " Do not allow
attachments etc... " uncheck it.
Hope this helps, Bill
