Lately when I boot my computer I am Getting message - outlook express can
free up space. outlook express can compact messages, this may take a few

Firstly you NEED to let OE do this - if you don't compact folders, you run
the risk of file corruption. It does this every 100 launches AFAIK.
Secondly, this newsgroup is for support of Outlook
97/98/2000/2002/2003/2007 from the Office suite of products. Outlook
Express is actually a separate program despite the similar name.

First this is a OE issue which belongs to the OE newsgroups and not here in Outlook which is a part of Office.

Secondly this is a known NEW issue and we still do not know what is causing it. Some suggest that it is an installation of a upgrade of some sort or some software that was installed or upgraded. Nero is also a suspect at this time along with some AV upgrade
