I was wondering if anyone knew how to change the settings
in Outlook Express to inable link opening. I can't open
links that have been emailed to me. Let me know. Thanks.

Just for grins; are the links you are refering to in

some other color than the print you are reading. The
reason I'm asking is that sometimes I get links that
people have typed into there messages that do not show up
as a link.

Try this:

Start>Run - then type in "regsvr32 urlmon.dll" - without the quotes. Please note the space between the 2 and u. Then open Internet Explorer and go to Tools>Internet Options>Programs and click on 'Reset Web Settings...'. Re-try the links.

You probably have checked the option to not open attachments that "could"
have a virus. That includes almost any attachment.
Click on Tools... Options.... Security and remove the checkmark before that
option.
