outlook express

Following an XP upgrade I have had errors opening parts of
outlook express. The messages say the address book is not
properly configured. I can not uninstall internet
explorer and reinstalling it does not help. I've tried
the obvious fixes and used the microsoft data base. Can I
dump the address book or fix it seperately? Outlook
Express will open and I can receive mail and view it on
the lower screen, but I can't open the messages in a
seperate window or look and at the address book. The
create message button does not work.
