outlook express problems

Why didn't Outlook upgrade properly? Wizard came up
instead of the usual program after upgrading from me to
xp. Only 1 identity has any old information. Appears all
messages are lost.

I have no access to email. If I reinstall using wizard, I
will lose 4 accounts worth and addresses.


Any ideas?

Well, you can go into the old User accounts and under your name look in
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\{74D9A766-F8B2-44DC-ADA0-714080FD6AD6}\Microsoft\Outlook
Express Just copy and paste the folders into your new Folder. Sent.dbx,
Inbox.dbx
etc. Delete the new one or change the ext to something like Inbox.dbz

Try this..make a new folder somewhere on your hard drive.
Use xp search to find files named *dbx ( tick thesearch
hidden files in the Advanced option).
This should return a list of your old email folders such
as inbox.dbx etc.
Highlight all the files in the list, right click and
select Copy. Paste them into your new folder.
Start OE hit File / Import / Messages..and import all you
have pasted.
