outlook express problem

I'm taking an outlook express stationery class and I need
to set outlook express (new email) to view/source edit in
order to look at various things within the stationery.
Unfortunately my source edit is greyed out. Any clue as
to how to get this working? I'm using Outlook Express 6
with Windows XP home. Help! I'm desperate.
