Outlook express messages do not stay in folders

After installing XP with OE 6.0 I copied the account files of OE from another
PC. All folders are empty and now when I receive messages I see the counter
next to Inbox folder name increase but as soon as I click on the folder the
counter is 0 and no messages. I tried with the other folders like drafts and
have the same on all.

What went wrong and how can I solve this ?

The problem is not only the old messages, but also all new messages or even a
message that I save in drafts will disapear as soon as I click on the folder.
