Outlook Express - Message Sent but stays in Outbox

Replys seem to go out without error....but new emails I create, when I send
them they do go out with no problem but instead of clearing the email out of
the outbox when done it pops up a window saying "see the error message below"
but there is no error in the message box and the sent message stays in the
outbox eventhough it actually got sent. I am using Outlook Express in
Windows 2000. I have done the Windows Upgrade option but there are no
upgrades available presently. I have deteled Outbox.dbx and it recreated it
but that did not solve this "sends but stays in the outbox" problem. Is
there a repair I need to do? It is not spyware or a virus causing the
problem.

In the "Microsoft Office Online" pull down of newsgroups available it had
several Outlook versions but it did not list an Outlook Express newsgroup. I
was hoping that someone in the other listed Outlook variations would be nice
enough to help with my problem.
