When downloading in Outlook Express, I get to the 8th msessage and the
computer locks up. The processor is running at 100%. I have left this run for
hous to no avail. and have to literally unplug the computer to reboot. Does
anybody have any ideas on how I can get past this 8th message so I can read
my 300+ e-mail messages. I have tried disabling all of my spyware and virus
scanning software to no avail.

Hey just login to your webmail. Delete the 7th oldest message that has to be
downloaded. Then try a send receive in Outlook express with all antivirus
software disabled. That should do the trick.

Ask in an Outlook Express newsgroup like

Thank you for your help. This sounds like it should work. However, by
webmail, I assume you are referring to my SBC/Yahoo webmail. This does not
show a list of e-mails to be downloaded. I does download some of the mesages
that I get in Express. Is there another webmail that I have available to me
that will show the list of messags to be downloaded? (Years ago, When I was
using a VAX All-In-one system, it was possible to view a list of messages
before reading them; I liked that feature).

Thank you Brian; I will check that site out.
