Outlook Express is blocking all attachments

I am using a new copy of Outlook Express 6.0 and it is
blocking all attachments. I have a relative in Iraq that
sends his E-mails as attached Word documents since they
are limited in their time on the computer and Outlook
Express is even blocking .doc files. Is there a way I
can adjust the types of files blocked by Outlook Express?
