Outlook Express Instant Message Deletion, HELP!!!!

The other day I opened Outlook express only to find that
all of my messages in all folders had been deleted, even
the inbox. Now whenever Express downloads e-mails they
are instantly deleted. WHAT IS GOING ON??! THIS IS
CRUCIAL TO MY FUTURE!! HELP!!
