outlook express / excel saving problem

M

Martin Trimble

Hi
When an excel file is opened as an attachment in outlook express and the
changes made and saved, are the changes saved anywhere or lost when the
email is closed?
I have tried this and changes seem to be lost if you reopen the same xls
file from an email - but does anyone know if the saved file is held in a
different location anywhere?
thanks

I usually save the attachment to work on it but try looking in temp folders.

The next time you open your file from OE, try putting this formula in a spare
cell:

=cell("filename",a1)

And note the path that comes back.

But you might be better off doing a file|saveas and putting it the folder of
your choice.
