After downloading a microsoft update, my computer turned
off. Unfortunately Outlook Express was still active.
Now, each time I go to OE I get the message "Outlook
Express did not shut down correctly. OE has encountered a
problem and needs to close." How do I get rid of the
window with this message and get back to using my mail?

Greetings Carol Roth,

Try the following stesps:

1.. Click Start, point to Search, and then click All Files and Folders.
2.. In the Named box, type *.dbx, in the Look in box, click Local hard
drives (C:), and then click Search Now.
3.. For each *.dbx file that is found, right-click the file, click
Properties, and then clear the Read-only check box.
4.. Click Apply, and then click Close.
Regards,
Jose Francisco

Try moving "folders.dbx" to a new folder, for example in an empty folder in
"my documents" of that doesn't fix the problem, mo e all of the dbx files to
there "folders.dbx" is. Make sure you do the steps above with OE closed.
