I am missing the envelope in the system tray when I get a new message. It
just disappeared. How do I restore it?

Thank you,
Scott

Try Tools\Options\General tab and see if check for new messages box is
checked. If it is cleared OE will not check for new mail automatically thus
the new mail icon will not appear.

Try this.

Right click the Taskbar | Properties | Taskbar tab | Customize button |
Find the You have new e-mail icon | Select Always show | Click OK | Click
Apply | Click OK

[[In Microsoft Windows XP, icons in the Notification area (on the right side
of the taskbar) are, by default, hidden when they are inactive. This
behavior is determined by a setting, which can be cleared or selected for
each item.]]
