Outlook express. Empty deleted items

I'm using outlook express and have three hotmail addresses associate
with it. After I read the messages, I put some of them in the delete
items folder. And then sometimes when I try to empty the deleted item
folder, I get a message that reads "Server does not support manua
deletion." Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesen't. Woul
someone tell me what's going on and how to fix it

What the message is telling you is that deleting from "your" deleted folder
does/may not mean that the emails will be deleted from the ISP's mail
server. This will occur with, for instance, Hotmail emails that you receive
through Outlook Express.

You may have to go to the Hotmail web site and delete the messages from
there.
