Outlook Express E-mail notification

I've lost the "envelope" icon that always appeared in the
system tray to notify the presence of incoming e-mail;
and I can't figure out how to get it back.

Create a new Named Identity (File>Identities>Add new identity). Import
messages from the old Identity before deleting it (File>Identities>Manage
Identities).

Review recommended OE Maintenance to avoid such corruption in the future:
