Outlook Express and the Web

All of a sudden when I click on an email hyperlink from a webpage I get an error box that says "Cannot send mail. No program is set up to send mail using internet shortcuts". I clicked on tools, internet options and clicked the programs tab, and on email there is nothing in the drop down box and no way to insert Outlook Express. How would this just suddenly disappear, and how do I get it back in? Your help is much appreciated, thanks!

Close Internet Explorer and Outlook Express. Go to Start/Run and type the
following command.

"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /reg (including the
quotes)

Press OK. Now open Internet Explorer and go to Tools/Internet
Options/Programs Tab and OE should appear as a choice in the list.

Sorry for the delay.

Open Outlook Express and look at Tools/Options/General Tab. At the bottom of
that dialog box, "This application is the default mail handler" click the
Make deafault Button. test to see if this resolves the problem.

If no joy, you might be better off reinstalling IE/OE. This is a painless
way to fix many problems with these apps. Look at the following website and
scroll down to the Internet Explorer section for the instructions.
