Outlook Express and AOL Instant Messenger

I am also trying to stop windows messenger from
constantly logging on. I have zone alarm, and it tries
like every 3 or 4 minutes, I even say yes, and it keeps
doing this. Someone on here stated to go into Outlook
Express and into Tools then select windows messenger then
preferences and delete everything in there. While doing
this I noticed something funny. I had AOL Instant
Messenger running in the background and I noticed in the
outlook express window, that all my AIM users appeared
there. Only difference is here they have icons that look
like windows messengers users, however, they are AOL
users on my buddy list. And there was an option in
Outlook Express for AIM. When did this happen? Or am I
dreaming?

aol loves to take over your computer. i believe if you go to 'set program
access and defaults' in the control panel, you can unselect aim as the
default messenger. you may have to reboot too? then you should find
outlook has changed when you back into the tools menu.
