Outlook express and Aol emails

In an attempt to get outlook up and running with my aol account I am experiencing problems with authentication I receive the messagexaol-uas-mb authenication failed. none of the authenication methods supported by your imap server (if any) are supported on this computer.
Can I do anything to resolve this?

NB all HardBoiledEggHead Café members: Vista doesn't include Outlook Express
& Outlook is not the same application as Outlook Express (or Windows Mail).
