Outlook Express 6 unopenable attachments

Apologies if this subject has been discussed already.

My Outlook Express 6, Win XP Home, regularly decides on my behalf that
incoming emails contain "unsafe" attachments, and makes them unopenable. I
can see that something was attached, but it is 'greyed out'. Is there a way
of retrieving these attachments, or another way around this problem?

It has and often. You can do search in OE. You can also do a search in
Google Groups.

To change the behavior of a program, where in the program do you go?
Options. Yep, it's an option.

By the way, this newsgroup is for Outlook, not for Outlook Express
(which used to be called Internet Mail & News). In the future, post OE
questions in newsgroups for OE.
