Outlook Express 6 spellcheck

Windows XP with Outlook Express 6 and Works is on my new
Sony computer. The spellcheck is dimmed out. Any idea
how to activate it. The help says it should use the
spellcheck on Works when Works is installed, which it is.

The version of Works must be "Works Suite". It includes Word, which contains
the spell checker. If you have "Works", and not "Works Suite", it does not
contain Word, and has no spell checker.

My single copy of MS Works 4.5 has spellcheck. Who told you it doesn't have
spellcheck , Steve ? Jym

The version of Works I have includes "Word" which is why
I don't understand why the spellcheck on the Outlook
Express is not activated.

Jym, my post was misleading. While Works does have a spell checker, Outlook
Express won't use it. The OP was asking about a spell checker in Outlook
Express. OE uses the checker from Office (Word, Excel). Works Suite includes
Word, not just the Works word processor that is in earlier versions of
Works.
