Outlook Express 6 problems

T

Tuned In

I recently added a wireless adapter to my PC. When I go into Outlook
Express it will give me a message box with the option of working
offline or try again(meaning try again to get online). I look at my
connection and it states that I have very good signal and the
connection is there but Outlook is not detecting it. When I hit the
try again it usually connects Outlook and it starts downloading my e-
mail. The thing I do not understand is why it does not give me this
message box all the time, some times it will and most of the time now
it connects itself, acting like over time it is fixing itself. It is
the idea I have to do this though. I also cannot access the url links
that I get from e-mails I receive. Example: I subscibe to Sears. They
sent me a e-mail with a promotional code link to access. When I click
on the link it will go to internet explorer but it will remain there--
In the tab it says it is connecting but it doesn't. It will remain
there saying it is connecting and never does. It is the same with all
the links I click on, Also when I go to help to try and acces anything
there it does the same as clicking on a link from a sent e-mail. The
same for hotmail and msn. It is like Outlook is losing something when
it tries to access a link or go to internet explorer. I have never had
this problem before---can someone give me a reason why it is doing
this and how I can go about fixing this problem. I do very much
appreciate any help or input. Thank You.

Hi,
Well, let's break this puzzle into Pieces and solve one piece at a time!.
1 - So did you set the Wireless card as your default Internet Adapter and
Disable the other card on the PC/Laptop?.
Did you run the configuration utility or you let windows Zero Configuration
to manage it for, also do you have WPA, WEP encryption Key when you setup the
Router?.
Double click the Wireless Icon on the Notification Area/tray and see if you
can see your Network listed there, if you can see it double click it and try
to connect if you got an error then try to Right click it and Add the Info,
one of them the Security Key (WPA, WEP) encryption.

Hello again. Took me a long time huh. Had to get a couple smokes in
between some of this. I did everything you had down and still will not
connect. When I got down to the last I got error messages on two
things I typed into run"
..
First---LoadLibrary("crypdlg.dll") failed - The specified module could
not be found.

Second---mshml.dll was loaded, but the dllRegisterServer entry point
was not found. This file cannot be registered.

Third---I do appreciate the knowledge and help applying it to this
situation, you have given me. I still do not know what is going on.
This is why I ask ---Thank You.

Did you run the configuration utility or you let windows Zero Configuration
to manage it for, also do you have WPA, WEP encryption Key when you setup the
Router?.
Double click the Wireless Icon on the Notification Area/tray and see if you
can see your Network listed there, if you can see it double click it and try
to connect if you got an error then try to Right click it and Add the Info,
one of them the Security Key (WPA, WEP) encryption.

access links from my favorites and type in url's and get where I want

so I uninstalled it. I did switch over to Microsoft Outlook to see if
that would operate any better, but it is doing the same thing Outlook
Express 6 is doing. When I click on a link from a sent e-mail it gives
me a box that says--- extracting --- after it is done extracting it
takes me to Mozilla Firefox Setup. I cancell this and I'm stuck. It
does this everytime I click on a link. You are going to have to take

I'm lost. Patience with me is all I can say.

Hello again. Took me a long time huh. Had to get a couple smokes in
between some of this. I did everything you had down and still will not
connect. When I got down to the last I got error messages on two
things I typed into run"
..
First---LoadLibrary("crypdlg.dll") failed - The specified module could
not be found.
Second---mshml.dll was loaded, but the dllRegisterServer entry point
was not found. This file cannot be registered.
Third---I do appreciate the knowledge and help applying it to this
situation, you have given me. I still do not know what is going on.
This is why I ask ---Thank You.
What happen if you compact your Inbox and reboot your machine?.
Try this and I will try to get some solution to you.
Are you able to surf the Net from your Browser Okay and all links accessible?.
If yes, then you may have a corrupted profile either on the Computer or the
Outlook Express!.
HTH.

I sent a reply to you via (reply to author) but I don't know if you
received it. I can access the internet from my browser. I can also
access links from my favorites and type in url's and get where I want
to go. I upgaded to Internet explorer 7. I have Dogpile set as my
homepage. I did get rid of my Yahoo!, Google and etc... toolbars I had
on my browser. I did have Mozilla Firefox but it was not acting right
so I uninstalled it.
You are going to have to take
me step by step on how to compact my inbox and reboot the machine--
I'm lost. Patience with me is all I can say.
