I am having the same problem that dp600 had posted 2/8/07. I tried all of the
suggestions posted in this thread. But I am still not able to open an
attached picture. The picture was e-mailed to me from family member. i get
the error "this file does not have a program associated with it for
preforming this action" create an association in the file folder options. The
file attachment I am trying to open is a .jpg file I go to folder options and
the .jpg file is there Also under the subject line there is no message some
pictures have been blocked.

I have no idea what dp600 had posted 2/8/07. I don't keep messages for more
than a week. And, you didn't include the "suggestions", so that is a moot
point. See the following.

"Images are blocked when you open an e-mail message in Outlook Express on a
Windows XP Service Pack 2-based computer"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/843018

And then if you still have a problem.

Save the attachment to your HDD. Right click on it and Open With | Choose
Program. Find and choose a program that works and then check the box: Always
use this program to open this kind of file. This should enable you to open
these attachments in the future.

If it is a jpg, set the association to Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.

The following article explains how to set OE6 as
your Default E-mail Client...it may be worth a try.

Also you might try resetting your file associations
using the utility in the following article:
