Outlook Express 6 Backup

P

PPF

Recently I have a complete system recovery performed due to bad problems.
I saved OE6 store folder backup before system recovery.
I now have new set of OE6 running and trying to import all older messages
from store folder backup (.dbx files).
So far I fail to import them using OE6 Import command, they don't allow
to import these files.
Any resolution?

Take note of the backup .dbx files, the name of the file is the same name as
the folder in OE6.
Create a new folder in OE6 with the name being the same as the .dbx file you
have backed up.
Now exit OE6 and locate the newly created .dbx file and replace it with the
backup .dbx of the same name.
The next time you open OE you should see the folder and all the emails
contained therein.

If you are having trouble locating where OE stores .dbx files see:
