Outlook Express 6.0 XP sp2 spell checker

The spell checker does not work. It is not highlighted. I have read that MS Office is required to be installed to allow the spell checker in OL to be enabled. I don't have it installed but I do have MS Works word. That has a spell checker. Is there a "fix" for this ? So OL spell check works. If Not, would everyone reading this, give a comment to Microsoft, to generate a fix for this and include a spell check in the future Outlook Express Applications. I don't think it is right that MS office has to be installed. I am happy with just MS Works. I understand that a new OL ver. 7.0 is on its way this year, maybe we are too late.. thanks for the support
