outlook.exe will not close properly

Hi all:
Every time I run outlook for the first time after booting my computer it
runs fine. The problem starts when I close the program. I noticed that when
I tried to open it a second time without rebooting it will not open. I found
out that there is an instance of outlook.exe on the task manager after I
closed it the first time. If I try to open it again it will create another
instance of outlook.exe on the task manager, but the program will not open.
I could have several instances of outlook.exe on the task manager but the
program will not be opened. Has anyone experienced this? I already did a
repair of the installation and the problem persists. Any Ideas on how to fix
this? TIA.

All,

I am having a similar problem. I can still open outlook
after closing, but when I do close, the program is still
listed in the task manager. The version I am running is
outlook 2000.

Also, I have seen several other postings on the same
subject, but no resolutions.

Thanks

Mike

Others have had that problem also. There are several causes, one of
them being an interaction between some versions of Winfax Pro and some
versions of Outlook, another being an interaction between some versions
of Outlook and some modems. There may be other causes as well. I'm not
really aware of a fix, but when I upgraded from Office 2000 to Office
2003, the problem did go away.

What was the fix for this? I have a similar situation after
I upgraded Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2003 and then reverted
back to Outlook 2000 as 2000 is our company's standard rev
level. Please advise as it's a nuisance!!!

Thanks,
Andy
