outlook.exe stays in task manager after closing

When I close outlook the program closes it's window and
dissapears from the task bar but the outlook.exe file is
still present in the task manager. Sometimes I find 3
times the outlook.exe present in the task manager without
even having outlook opend. I asume that this is not the
normal behavior....Anybody out there with an explanation?
I have this problem on 2 computers, all the latest updates
installed, one running windows XP home the other XP
professional.
 
Look for 3rd party applications that could be holding Outlook open by using
its data. (e.g. Activesync, WinFax, Antivirus, Instant Messenger products
like ICQ, .etc)
