Outlook errors - frequenty disrupting service

S

Steven

The following errors are recorded in System Information.
The computer is crashing daily lately. Anything I can do??

Standard Microsoft support refers me to Hewlett-Packard
because I upgraded from Office/Outlook 2000 to Outlook
2002 through HP's Jornada (PDA) CD with ActiveSync. The
CD instructions recommended upgrading to 2002 for better
performance. Now ALL Outlook-related issues are supposed
to be HP's responsibility. Problem is - HP techs only
know how to address issues related to loading and
interacting with the PDA. So, I'm jammed! Your help
would be greatly appreciated.

Did you make a new profile when you upgraded? There are some issues with
upgrades and a new profile fixes them... also - when you get the error and
are asked to send them in, do you? It'll help MS fix the errors if you do...

My earlier reply may have been lost. I checked out the
links you supplied and the partialy composed reply was no
where to be found. Oops

Neither of my Outlook profiles (personal and work email)
were altered during the upgrade to 2002 - to my
knowledge. I have altered them subsequently - switching
from dial-up to cable modem connectivity as cable problems
arise.

Are you suggesting creating a fresh Outlook profile with
essentially all the same data, then deleting the former
profile(s)? I'll try it.

Yes, I do opt to report the errors as they occur.

By the way, our computer hosts multiple Windows profiles -
one for each family member. Several of the Windows
profiles continue to operate Outlook 2000. The HP CD that
provided the upgrade will not permit additional upgrades
for the other installations. Is there a way for me to
leverage the upgrade on my Windows profile to the others?
Sharing access to new software across multiple Windows
profiles hasn't posed a problem before.

P.S. Upgrading the entire PC to XP is not feasibly due to
the video card. No support from STB for the Velocity card.

5-12-04 Another error report - this time I checked for
Office updates. The Knowledge Base indicates that 06-Dec-
2002 Omi9.dll 5.5.3186.0 is the current file I should have
loaded. My system is on 5.5.2809.0. Bear in mind that
I'm using Office 2000 with Outlook 2002 on my Windows
profile while other users are still on Outlook 2000. Do I
update Outlook 2000 per http://support.microsoft.com/?
kbid=811167? Or will this foul-up the Outlook 2002
installation? Microsoft support defers to HP. HP is only
prepared to support the installation of Outlook 2002
related to their PDA. I can't afford to wreck my blended
system and these errors aren't fun either.

HELP!!
