outlook error message

I "acquired" a trojan horse virus and when I quarantined it, I had to delete
the files that it had infected. Since doing that, I cannot send/receive in
my ms outlook. I get an error..ox8004210A The operation timed out waiting
for a response from the receiving (POP) server. If you continue to receive
this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider
(ISP).. I tried expanding the time that it would attempt to send/receive,
but to no avail...
