Outlook error message - very strange

P

Pat P

Whenever I try to send a new email from Outlook, go and
click on NEW, I get the Outlook error message: A program
is trying to access e-mail addresses you have stored in
Outlook. Do you want to allow this? Then, no matter if
you click yes or no, the new message window opens.

I've never seen this before, and it is most annoying.

Please help!

Pat

I am tech support for Business college and I have several
users experiencing this problem. They are using Word as
their email editor. Uncheck this feature and should not
have any more problems. Please let me know if you find
another solution please.

I am tech support for a college and we are having this
problem after upgrading users to Office 11. Are you using
Word as your email editor? If yes, turn this feature
off.

Originally, this problem surfaced in Office 2002 when
using the email merge feature in Word. Installing Active
Sync 3.7 resolved the problem. With Office 2003, adjusting
the macro security level to medium resolved the problem.
With this current problem, the users had to disable Word
as the email editor. I don't normally use Word as my
email editor but I turned it on to see if I could recreate
the problem. The message did not pop up for me. I think it
is because I have Active sync 3.7 installed.

Let me know what you find out. Thanks.
